Hannah:
Now that she is 11 and the "ruler" of the world and the "all knowing" it's pretty interesting in the house! She has begun the dreaded "SIGH!" and the eyes rolling ... she thinks I can't see her, but - been there done THAT! :) I let her get away with some of it b/c I am trying to be understanding and respectful to what she is going through. Otherwise, she is the most perfect girl on the planet. She made straight A's this 6 weeks! This is a HUGE accomplishment for her. Some people school comes very natural, but she has really struggled for several years (this is the first time since Kindergarten she's received this!). So, as a reward we promised her she could start gymnastics. We're on our 2nd week and she loves it so much! Hannah is still in soccer too. Her positions are still goalie and mid-field. She is quite the athlete! I take her to practice early to make her run 15 extra laps to build up endurance... she hates it, but one day she'll thank me (hopefully) :). Also, she is LOVING band! She plays the clarinet and is actually really good! One of my favorite things she's done recently is go to her first "boy/girl social" at school. This is such a big deal and I get so emotional thinking about all those crazy thoughts! Socials are so fun! It's just one more thing showing me she's growing up so fast and will soon be in high school - then COLLEGE! :( :( :(
and............ she's decided not to dress up for Halloween this year - are you kidding me??? STOP GROWING UP!!! :( :( :(
Lucas:
This little dude keeps me busy ALL day long! He is non-stop from the moment he wakes up until the moment he goes to bed.... even then he fights it. He will be sitting there with his eyes closed and I'll say "Luke, are you tired?" he will shake his head no WITH HIS EYES STILL CLOSED! HA!
His vocabulary is getting crazy! It's still hard for people to understand him, but we know exactly what he's saying. Which is nice, because there is no more "guessing games".
He is a sports LOVER (wonder where he got that from!)! He will sit and watch sports with his daddy on the couch for so long.... then he'll get go grab a ball and start throwing the ball with his dad. He yells all the right things "TOUCHDOWN - for football, HOMERUN or DOUBLE - for baseball, HOLE IN ONE - for golf, HEEE-YAAAA - for soccer (he's saying Hannah, because he's seen her place it so much). It's really so sweet!
The love that he has for Hannah is priceless... He gets so excited to go pick her up from school and then heartbroken when she comes home and closes herself off in her room to do homework. He is ready to play with her! One day he will understand. :)
He's not that picky of an eater (unlike his sister!). He eats tons of fruits and veggies... but his favorite food is PIZZA!
He sings his "ABC's" and "Happy Bookie" (Happy birthday) everyday!
This little guy loves to read! We can read 7 or 8 books at night before bed and he still wants more!
One of the sweetest things he does say his prayers before all his meals. He folds his hands - puts them up by his nose... then he does the sign of the cross... we pray... he does the sign of the cross again... and YELLS - AAAAMMMMEENNNNN!!!!!!!!!!! HA!
Both of our kids are so sweet and perfect in their own way and we are blessed to have them "on loan" from God. They are truly the reason I exist. :)
