This past weekend I had the most 'awesome' experience at my first C.R.H.P. retreat.
CRHP stands for Christ Renews His Parish.... The retreat was just that!
I was WAY out of my comfort zone doing this. As you know, I am not big on 'big social events' etc..., so this was my first adjustment - 2
nd was not having my watch OR my cell phone - BOTH of which I am addicted to. It was too important to be on 'God's Time'. I'M SO GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE EITHER! We had no concept of 'real time' - very refreshing!
The most important thing I took from this retreat was - that I AM LOVED. That was told over and over and over to us. That God loves me so much that He sent His only Son to die for ME! I've heard that in my life about 1 million times, but this weekend I felt it! I feel like I now have a RELATIONSHIP with Christ. I would swear to the fact that I saw Him in some of these amazing women telling their story. I cried with these women so much this weekend - I related with SO many of them also.
One of the MANY surprises of the weekend was letters from people I love dearly. The warmth I felt from them was overwhelming! I felt loved! Loved beyond words! Thank YOU all for sending them. I have no words to express how thankful I am that you took time out of your day to write them! :)
Our theme song that we all sang over and over this weekend was 'Who Am I?' by Casting Crowns. When we first started singing it - it was a little uncomfortable. No one was really singing etc... by the time we sang it for the last time we were wrapped around one another crying and singing. I love these women and what they helped me discover about myself.
You are My Beloved, In you I am well pleased
Luke 3:22
(the song is posted on my song list if you want to hear it)
WHO AM I?
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.
Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.
Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,Lord,
you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.
Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.
I am yours.
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am yours..
I am yours..
